Dr. Julia Markowski
Psychologist (35848)
Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
I bring a rich mix of personal and professional life experience to my work, which enables me to support clients with a wide range of presenting concerns. I have a particular interest in helping people navigate low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and work- or study-related stress.
My goal is to offer a non-judgmental and genuinely useful therapeutic space where you can make sense of your feelings, dilemmas, and relationships, gain perspective on your situation, and explore new possibilities. I strive to create an environment that feels calm, engaged, and collaborative—so you can speak freely and confidently.
In our sessions, we’ll focus on your current concerns while also exploring how your past experiences may have shaped where you are today. Alongside reflection and exploration, I’ll support you in building practical skills and greater confidence in yourself and your future. Previous clients have described me as down-to-earth, thoughtful, compassionate, and supportive of diverse ways of living.
Before training as a psychologist, I completed a Master’s degree in Medieval History, where I researched migration, love, and marriage—early experiences that deepened my interest in human relationships and life transitions. I later earned a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology from Regent’s University London.
Having lived in several countries, I value cultural sensitivity and bring a broad perspective to my work. I now live in Los Angeles with my husband. Outside of work, I enjoy road trips, architecture, walking in nature—and occasionally doing absolutely nothing at all.
