Dr. Yasi Shamtoub

PSYCHOLOGIST (29520); contracted addiction specialist

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

I approach each client with patience, an open mind, and emotional presence. I use an eclectic approach that incorporate various evidence based approaches such as Depth Psychology/Psychodynamic therapies, Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you on your journey. I also practices mindfulness-based therapies (MBCT) along with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help each client find a sense of peace and balance. I believe clients feel improvement when they gain both the insight and tools necessary to break free of their bothersome thoughts and behaviors.

I pride myself in being a generalist who works with a broad range of clients and issues. But I specialize in working with addiction (in all forms, not just substance-based addiction). Additional specializations include relationship issues, trauma, and grief.

I hold a PhD from Alliant University. Outside of work I enjoy comedies, traveling, and the arts.

(Please note: Dr. Shamtoub is an independent contractor who contracts with Framework as our addiction specialist. She maintains full responsibility for the clinical services she provides, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, documentation, and compliance with applicable laws and ethical standards. If you choose to work with her, you would not be a client of Framework, but rather a client of Dr. Shamtoub’s independent practice utilizing Framework’s billing services. Framework’s receptionists are able to assist you with a referral to Dr. Shamtoub, though she retains control over her own calendar and scheduling, so you would schedule through her directly. Please let reception know if you would like a more streamlined client experience, and we can re-match you to another therapist.)
