Alexis Long, M.A.

Psychological Associate (94029033)

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

My style is grounded in a psychodynamically/psychoanalytically-informed approach. I believe that healing takes place in the context of a safe and authentic therapeutic relationship and strive to provide that therapeutic atmosphere for all clients. I have a deep appreciation for the complexity of the human experience, and offer a collaborative and supportive space where clients can bring their multitudes—their pain, confusion, anger, sadness (and joy!)—without judgment.

I give my clients the space to steer us in whatever direction they feel called to explore, and my clients know that I'm right by their side every step of the way to support their exploration. Sometimes this looks like offering practical tools that clients can use right away. Sometimes it looks like helping clients make sense of thoughts, feelings, and experiences that feel new or scary to them. And sometimes it looks like me shining a light in a direction the clients hasn't yet considered exploring.

I identify as a lesbian, previously trained at the Los Angeles LGBT Center, and enjoy providing LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy to other members of the community. I deeply acknowledge the role of culture and intersectionality on our lived experiences.

I earned my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Alliant University and I’m currently completing the final year of training required for my Doctorate.

In my free time, I enjoy trying new restaurants with friends, tending to my plants, and indulging in reality television.

I’m currently a psychological associate (94028007) supervised by Dr. Scott (CA 29242; IL 071010928). Clients are welcome to reach out to Framework’s Assistant Director of Training, Dr. Leal, for any questions or concerns.
