Julia Davis, M.A., M.F.A.

Associate Marriage and family therapist* (157508)

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

I bring a strong foundation in expressive, trauma-informed, and embodied approaches to therapy. I value collaboration, curiosity, and growth, recognizing that each therapeutic relationship is unique and that you are the expert on your own life. Together, we can explore your experiences and find approaches that best support your needs. I also believe therapy can include humor, welcoming laughter as another way to process and heal.

As a cisgender white woman, I continually reflect on the privileges associated with my identities and how they may shape the therapeutic relationship and the spaces I occupy. I am deeply aligned with collaborative, values-driven environments that support growth and meaningful connection.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I earned my Master of Fine Arts in Acting from USC. I spent about 15 years in the performing arts and entertainment industry before transitioning into a role as Theater Faculty and Dean of Student Voices at an all-girls school. My experiences as a creative and teaching artist have provided a deep understanding of the highs and lows of working in the entertainment industry. My training as an actor has taught me to balance preparation and improvisation — I often come into sessions with an idea of how to continue our work together, with the understanding that it’s totally fine to pivot based on what unfolds. I honor and welcome how you want to spend your time in therapy, allowing room for spontaneity and exploration. When and if it feels right, we can get creative through storytelling, imagery, role-play, and other forms of expression.

I also hold a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Antioch. Before joining Framework, I worked at a community mental health center and an intensive outpatient program.

I am supervised by Dr. Schall (34734). Clients are welcome to reach out to Framework’s Associate Director for Training, Dr. Leal, with any questions or concerns.
