Framework Associates is a rapidly expanding practice based in Santa Monica. We were founded on the principles of providing affordable, accessible psychological services from highly qualified psychologists. Current marketing strategies attract high functioning clients in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who are experiencing phase of life issues, relationship concerns, or striving to achieve work/life balance.

Framework currently has relationships that allow us to accept Psy.D. or Ph.D. students from Pepperdine, The Chicago School, and Alliant. Our practicum program is designed to help strengthen your outpatient clinical skills, developmentally foster your autonomy, and grow your identity as a private practice psychologist. This 12-month program is designed to provide 750 hours of clinical training.

Duties: Our practicum program is a mixed therapy + assessment practicum. Your clinical duties will include conducting intakes, providing individual and couples therapy for adults, as well as cognitive assessment.

Hours: 9 hrs/wk on-site in our offices + 7 hrs/wk assessment report writing from home. Total is 16 hrs/wk.

Location: We are accepting one practicum student at our Santa Monica location and one student at our East Side LA location. We realize a cross-town commute would be a nightmare, so if you’re only interested in working at one of the two locations please let us know in your cover letter.

Supervision: Practicum students will be assigned a therapy supervisor as well as an assessment supervisor.

To be considered, you MUST:

  • Be enrolled as a Psy.D. or Ph.D. student at Pepperdine, The Chicago School, or Alliant. If you are enrolled at a different university please ask your director of training to contact us on your behalf.

  • Have at least 1 prior practicum placement where you provided (or are currently providing) psychological services to adults.

  • Provide LGBT-affirming clinical services & consider cultural sensitivity in your work.

  • Value the therapeutic relationship and strive to build strong rapport with each client, with the ability to retain referred clients in ongoing treatment.

  • Have experience providing clinical services from at least one of the following theoretical orientations: Interpersonal, Relational, Psychodynamic, or Humanistic.

  • Have experience administering the WAIS and WIAT. Experience administerring these tests using QGlobal iPads is preferred, but not required.

  • Provide efficient clinical services with timely documentation.
