Postdoctoral Psych. Assistant

Framework Associates is a rapidly expanding practice based in Santa Monica. We were founded on the principles of providing affordable, accessible psychological services from highly qualified psychologists. Current marketing strategies attract high functioning clients in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who are experiencing phase of life issues, relationship concerns, or striving to achieve work/life balance.

This assistantship is designed to help strengthen your outpatient clinical skills, developmentally foster your autonomy, and grow your identity as a private practice psychologist. Postdocs who demonstrate appropriate fit during their training year may be invited to join Framework as a psychologist once licensed. Our 12-month program is designed to provide all hours needed for licensure as a psychologist in California.

Duties: Clinical duties include conducting intakes, providing individual and couples therapy for adults, as well as limited cognitive testing.

Hours: 35 weekly with limited evening and weekend hours required. Opportunity exists to provide online therapy from your home. Start date 9/1/19.

Compensation: Competitive per-session rate with an automatic raise once you accrue 1k hours. Our emphasis on the therapeutic relationship allows for highly motivated clients with a retention rate of 92%, giving you reliable income. Healthcare through Kaiser is included and you may pick from a variety of plans to meet your needs.

Location: One postdoc will be based out of our west LA location and the other out of east LA. If you have a preference, please specify in your cover letter.

Supervision: Postdocs will receive primary supervision from a licensed psychologist as well as weekly couples therapy consultation.

To be considered, a candidate MUST:

  • Hold a Psy.D. or Ph.D. in psychology.

  • Have experience providing individual and relationship therapy to adults.

  • Provide LGBT-affirming clinical services & consider cultural sensitivity in your work.

  • Value the therapeutic relationship and strive to build strong rapport with each client.

  • Have experience providing clinical services from at least one of the following theoretical orientations: Interpersonal, Relational, Psychodynamic, or Humanistic.

  • Have coursework and/or experience administering the WAIS and WIAT.

  • Provide efficient clinical services with timely documentation.
