Postdoctoral Psychological Assistant (Paid)

Framework Associates is a rapidly expanding practice based in Santa Monica. We were founded on the principles of providing affordable, accessible psychological services from highly qualified psychologists. Current marketing strategies attract high functioning clients in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who are experiencing phase of life issues, relationship concerns, or striving to achieve work/life balance.

This assistantship is designed to help strengthen your outpatient clinical skills, developmentally foster your autonomy, and grow your identity as a private practice psychologist. Assistants who demonstrate appropriate fit during their training may be invited to join Framework as a psychologist once licensed.

Duties: Clinical duties include conducting intakes, providing individual and couples therapy for adults, as well as limited cognitive testing. The assistant will also create Framework’s social media presence.

Hours: Minimum 25 hour/week commitment is required, though assistant is welcome to build up to a maximum of 44 hours/weekly. Assistants must be available 10am-7pm Thursdays and 10am-5pm Saturdays in our Santa Monica office. Additional hours will be collaboratively identified, with the option to provide telepsychology from home.

Compensation: Competitive per-session rate. Our emphasis on the therapeutic relationship allows for highly motivated clients with a retention rate of 92%, giving you reliable income. Healthcare stipend available once the assistant reaches FT status.

Supervision: Primary supervision is provided by Spencer Scott, Psy.D. and designed to count towards licensure in California. Additional secondary supervision is available from Framework’s other psychologists as appropriate.

To be considered, a candidate MUST:

  • Hold a Psy.D. or Ph.D. in psychology.

  • Have experience providing individual and relationship therapy to adults.

  • Provide LGBT-affirming clinical services.

  • Value the therapeutic relationship and strive to build strong rapport with each client.

  • Have experience providing clinical services from at least one of the following theoretical orientations: Interpersonal, Relational, Psychodynamic, or Humanistic.

  • Have coursework and/or experience administering the WAIS and WIAT.

  • Provide efficient clinical services with timely documentation.

  • Possess a strong aesthetic for curating social media with ongoing ideas for engaging content.
